Treatment Programs
Medical Detox
Medical detoxification at MDCR Rehab marks the critical first step in reclaiming control from substance dependence. Our San Jose facility provides uninterrupted medical supervision in a secure, private environment. Dr. Tanaka's team employs targeted medication-assisted treatment to safely manage withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants, and polysubstance combinations.
Each detox stay typically lasts 3 to 10 days, depending on the substance profile and individual health considerations. Throughout the process, clinicians monitor vital signs continuously, adjust pharmacological support as the body stabilizes, and provide emotional reassurance to ease the psychological burden of early withdrawal. Upon medical clearance, patients transition directly into residential or outpatient programming without interruption in care.

Residential Treatment
Our residential program offers 30 to 90 days of focused recovery within MDCR Rehab's 52-bed San Jose campus. Patients follow a purposeful daily schedule that weaves together individual counseling, structured group therapy, family sessions, life skills development, and restorative wellness activities — all within a setting designed to remove the distractions and pressures of Silicon Valley's fast-moving environment.
Clinical interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR for trauma processing, motivational interviewing, and 12-Step integration. Beyond the therapy room, residents participate in yoga, fitness conditioning, mindfulness meditation, and creative arts programming. This multidimensional approach builds the emotional resilience, self-awareness, and practical strategies patients need to sustain recovery long after leaving our campus.

Outpatient Program
MDCR Rehab offers both an Intensive Outpatient Program and a standard Outpatient track for patients who require substantive clinical support while maintaining careers, academic commitments, or family responsibilities. Sessions are held at our San Jose facility on a flexible schedule that accommodates the demanding rhythms common among Silicon Valley professionals.
The IOP involves 9 to 15 hours of weekly programming, including group therapy, individual counseling, relapse-prevention workshops, and skills-based psychoeducation. As patients demonstrate sustained stability, they step down to our standard outpatient track at 3 to 6 hours per week. Both tracks include routine toxicology screening, family therapy components, and a robust aftercare strategy linked to community resources across Santa Clara County and the greater Bay Area South.
Dual Diagnosis
Many individuals arriving at MDCR Rehab carry not only substance use disorders but also co-occurring mental health conditions such as major depression, generalized anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or ADHD — conditions frequently exacerbated by the high-stress demands of careers in Silicon Valley. Our dual diagnosis program addresses both concerns simultaneously, because treating one in isolation almost invariably undermines progress on the other.
Our psychiatric staff performs detailed diagnostic evaluations during the first 48 hours and collaborates closely with therapists, counselors, and medical providers to construct unified treatment plans. Patients receive individual psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management, specialized co-occurring disorder group sessions, and practical skills training for navigating triggers and emotional dysregulation in everyday life. This synchronized approach yields stronger, more durable outcomes and equips patients with the self-understanding necessary for long-term wellness.
