About MDCR Rehab
Our Story
MDCR Rehab was established in 2010 by a group of behavioral health clinicians who observed that tech-industry professionals and high-achievers in Santa Clara County faced unique barriers to seeking addiction treatment — stigma, demanding schedules, and a culture that equated vulnerability with failure. They opened a discreet 20-bed facility in San Jose with a mission to deliver world-class care in an environment that respected both privacy and ambition.
Over 16 years of steady growth, that original vision has expanded into a 52-bed campus supported by 108 specialists. More than 9,500 individuals from Silicon Valley and the broader Bay Area South have walked through our doors and emerged with the clarity and tools to rebuild their lives. We have developed specialized programming for professionals managing high-pressure careers, bilingual tracks for our diverse Santa Clara County community, and dedicated pathways for young adults navigating early-career addiction.
Executive Director Dr. Priya Sharma has guided MDCR Rehab since 2018, embedding trauma-informed and culturally attuned practices into every layer of care. Her leadership has positioned the center as a recognized resource within San Jose's healthcare ecosystem and a trusted partner for employers committed to workforce well-being.

Our Mission
MDCR Rehab is dedicated to providing clinically excellent addiction treatment that goes beyond symptom management to uncover and resolve the underlying drivers of substance use. We honor each patient's individuality, craft personalized recovery strategies grounded in science, and equip them with resilient coping mechanisms for life after treatment.
Rooted in the San Jose community and deeply connected to the multicultural fabric of Silicon Valley, we believe that recovery flourishes when clinical expertise meets genuine human connection — between practitioners and patients, among peers in shared healing, and within a facility intentionally designed to restore hope and dignity.
Treatment Philosophy
At MDCR Rehab, we recognize addiction as a complex neurobiological condition shaped by environment, genetics, and lived experience — never a moral shortcoming. Our clinical model is built on three foundational commitments:
- Evidence-Driven Protocols: Our therapeutic toolkit draws exclusively from modalities validated by peer-reviewed science: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, contingency management, and medication-assisted treatment. We continuously audit patient outcomes to sharpen the efficacy of every intervention.
- Integrated Mind-Body Restoration: Recovery demands attention beyond the clinical hour. We incorporate nutritional rehabilitation, movement therapy, breathwork, guided nature excursions in the South Bay foothills, and creative expression into each patient's plan — nurturing the physical and emotional vitality that sustains sobriety.
- Individualized Recovery Architecture: No standardized template can capture a person's full story. Our clinicians conduct exhaustive biopsychosocial assessments and co-design treatment roadmaps that align with each patient's career reality, family dynamics, cultural background, and personal aspirations for the future.

Testimonials
"I spent years hiding a prescription pill dependency behind 80-hour work weeks in the tech industry. When I finally reached out to MDCR Rehab, Dr. Tanaka's medical team managed my detox with a precision that made me feel safe for the first time in years. The residential program gave me structure without rigidity, and I left after 60 days with tools I still use daily. Fourteen months sober and counting."

"MDCR Rehab understood something other programs missed: my substance use and my depression were feeding each other. The dual diagnosis team treated both at the same time, and Dr. Sharma personally reviewed my progress every week. That integrated approach is the reason I am nine months clean and finally managing my mental health properly."
— Michael B., Dual Diagnosis Program, August 2025
"I drove down from Palo Alto expecting a sterile clinic and found a place that actually felt human. The counselors at MDCR Rehab listened without judgment, the campus was calm and well-kept, and the aftercare plan they built with me has kept me connected to recovery resources across Santa Clara County. I wish I had come here sooner."
